The brief

Brightseed wanted a film about the hour most programs forget: the stretch between the final bell and getting home. No talking heads, no statistics on screen, just an honest look at what that time feels like for the kids living it.

The approach

We followed three teenagers for six weeks with a two-person crew and a single prime lens. Shooting handheld and mostly in available light kept the footprint small enough that they stopped noticing the camera after the first few days.

In the edit we cut the film to the rhythm of the walk home: slow, a little distracted, and full of small detours. The final piece premiered at the foundation’s annual gala and now anchors its fundraising campaign.
